It comes out December 17th! Yay, I'm so excited! Uh, no real reason except for that to start this topic, but...YAY!

You're crazy. You know that? Of course to be with Jimmy, you can't be fully sane. (Just kidding, Jimbo)

Uh, I was crazy long before I was with Jim. . .and I 'm a little drunkish right now, so of COURSE I'm excited about the Lord of the rings trilogy...of course, if I was sober I'd be just as excited...and just wait until June 4th, when Harry Potter 3 comes out in theatres...YAY!

Of course to be with Jimmy, you can't be fully sane. And therein lies the attraction. Unfortunately, I'm as unexcited about RotK as one can possibly be.

I'm hoping for more of a resemblence to "Fellowship" than "The Two Towers."

This thread is now the ROTK appreciation thread with possible spoilers for those who haven't read the books.
I saw it twice in as many days. And man oh man oh man. I'm gonna see it again. Peter Jackson handled it wonderfully. I'm kind of sad that he cut out some scenes (eg, Saruman's death, the razing of the Shire, etc), but it still flowed like butter on a hot plate. I need to work on my analogies. Were there any tear-jerking moments for you guys? I think one of the most powerful scenes was where Pippin sang acapella during the charge to retake Osgiliath. Also: "My friends. You bow to no one."

Were there any tear-jerking moments for you guys? I think that pretty much covers it for me.

I think that pretty much covers it for me. *laughs!* Well, those scenes will be in the extended edition, from what I heard. ^_^ And besides, for the theater crowd, you have to make some cuts somewhere. Otherwise that movie would have been probably about 4 or 5 hours long, instead of 3 1/2 (or whatever it was).

Yesssss . . . that would be wonderful . . . my preciousssss . . . HAHAHA The other day, I was at Ruth's place, and I was sitting on the couch smoking, knees tucked under my chin because it was kind of cold. Her sister said something about me looking like Gollum (I don't know either), so I started doing the 'my precious' thing with my cigarette, stroking it and saying "It came to me... my own... my... precioussss."

Were there any tear-jerking moments for you guys? I think one of the most powerful scenes was where Pippin sang acapella during the charge to retake Osgiliath. That scene actually left me in tears... Just the way it went, the song and the charge, and you knew that they were going to die, and the soft, melancholy tone of the music... Beautiful and haunting... The scene where Frodo decides to keep the ring was cool, just the way he said "The Ring is Mine!".... But, cool is running thin for me these days =\ ... I would have been more appreciative two or three years ago.
