This is an ad-verbatim cross-post from the FUS forums, since I got no replies there. Hopefully some of y'all will at least let me know one way or another. ^_^
I'm currently reworking the first chapter of the story of my character Chris Athan, a human from Earth and a member of the UN Army. It's the result of molding the SatAM universe in my head, staying true to the theme but at the same time creating a realistic, believable history as well as making a connection between Earth/humans and Mobius. There are some elements of the Archie comic in it, but not very many.
This is about the fifth time I've begun a rewrite of his story, and this time I plan on writing all the way through until the beginning of the Shattered Worlds novel-in-progress (which takes place on Earth). It's written in third-person restricted, from Chris' POV, and tells how he comes to be trapped on Mobius with no apparent way back home, and how he has to overcome the Mobians' inherent distrust of humans in order to join the Freedom Fighters and survive. The name of the story is Life and Liberty.
Right now, I'm a little stuck and am lacking motivation midway through the first chapter, Stranger in a Foreign Land. Is there any interest in seeing this? Tell me if you're interested, it might bring back my motivation to finish this chapter and continue with the story.
Also, if anyone's curious enough, I could try and type up as much as I can remember off the top of my head about the universe of Shattered Worlds and Life and Liberty. My friend Maringa has a complete timeline written up, but I don't have ready access to it.
Be warned, if I do type that up, it will be very long.
I can also post a few paragraphs from what I have so far to give you guys an idea of what I'm doing.
